Prevention · Dementia
Nearly half of dementia cases could be delayed or prevented.
The 2024 Lancet Commission put a figure on what general practice has long suspected: around 45% of dementia is attributable to fourteen modifiable risk factors — hearing, blood pressure, activity, alcohol, smoking, social contact and the rest. Almost none of it is decided in a consulting room. It is decided in the twenty years before anyone presents.
That is the hard part. Knowing which factors matter has never been the bottleneck — finding the time to assess ten of them, per patient, and turn the answers into something a person actually does, is. This page is the plan GeneralPractice.AI sends for exactly that.
What the plan assesses
Ten things — and not one of them is in the head alone.
These are the factors the Dementia Prevention plan puts to the patient, in the platform's own words. Open one and the body moves to the system it works through: the brain is downstream of the lungs, the liver, the pancreas and the arteries, which is why a dementia plan reads like a whole-body plan.
The regions shown are the platform's own: where the library already holds a plan for a factor — smoking, alcohol, blood pressure, blood sugar, mood — the body lights that plan's regions, not an illustration drawn for this page.
How it reaches them
Twenty minutes of theirs. Under a minute of yours.
- You send itOne patient, or a whole recall list, from the dashboard. Nothing to install at their end.
- They answer at homeAbout twenty minutes, in their own time and their own words — including the things people do not say across a desk.
- You approve itScores, goals and any safety flag on one screen. Edit anything; then it is theirs.
- It becomes dailyShort check-ins in My Lifestyle Hub, medals as habits hold, and a progress summary waiting before the follow-up.
